Everything you ever wanted to know about the American flag but didn't know who to ask. Mr. Marine is here to explain everything and to answer all your questions.

Operation Fallen Flag ceremony was held at St. Rita school in Cherry Valley Township at 2 pm on May 6, 2019. Approximately 150 students and teachers were introduced to the Glory Truck and  learned how the Glory Truck helps to replace worn flags and listened  to a presentation on the meaning and history of the American flag. The symbolism and meaning of the words to the Pledge of Allegiance and their affect on each individual were also presented.

Several veterans associated with the Glory Truck and the Fallen Flag Ceremony demonstrated the proper folding of the American Flag and explained what each of the thirteen folds of the flag represent. All in attendance were deeply moved by the ceremony and presentations by the veterans.

The principal of St. Rita school was presented with a Certificate of Appreciation as well as a properly folded flag and he graciously showed his enthusiasm, appreciation and gratitude to the veterans for their service to our country and to their dedication to educating our students on these patriotic lessons.
